Leuven, a first Meeting
We walk on the Grote Markt with the city hall and the Saint Peter’s church, the Oude Markt with the university hall. We will pass along old university colleges and end at the library of the university with its carillon.
The large Beguinage
Most houses date from the 17the centuary and are fully restored. This is the decor for the story of a blooming, independent, religious community of women.
The botanic garden
Two hunderd years ago the construction of the second botanic garden started. From the medical, botanic, university garden till the actual botanic city garden, that’s what this guide tour is about. This garden is one of the most beautiful botanic gardens of Belgium.
The Parc Abbey
Founded almost 900 years ago, the abbey did find its second brief. At the edge of the city, today the abbey is a green lung for its inhabitants. For the last 300 years, its buildings did hardly change.
